go-motion before which is the new techniques of adding motion blur to improve the quality of the stop motion either by flicking the model or creating vibration on the surface it was being shot on or the computer controlled rod puppet

Go-motion is the use of a computer-controlled rod puppet which moves during exposure of each frame, so it's accurate motion blur. No flicking or vibrating involved.

That's wikipedia for you... And also the lengths they had to go to to get a realistic motion blur effect with the technology available when ESB was made.

Today a lot of stop motion adds Blur in post production digital effects processing.

So I will stand by the potential I see in that Taun Taun model if it was framed to be 3 times the distance away from the camera at least than we see it in the wampa stop motion video and running away from something on the battlefield much larger than itself say an AT-ST as the CGI model is done... I think it would pass for a very close similar.

Add the motion Blur in post effects and it would be even more closer. And I reckon pretty much look like the Rod Puppet go-motion iteration.

Of course this would all depend on the people who did the animation being interested in doing a few more new shots and Adywan being interested in adding something like this but done better. I think both parties would probably be interested and do it for the joy of doing it. It would be kind of special little extra I guess.

But It is an exciting prospect, you cannot have cgi taun tauns and if Adywan is the boss and explains I want this shot and this shot.. They have already displayed the knowledge of framing the shot accurately well but they did not have the post production skills that Adywan really shines at.

If Adywan added motion Blur to the shot of the Wampa hitting the Taun Taun I reckon that would even improve some more and I already like it.

It's also not too much more work for Adywan but more so for the guys with the stop motion taun taun puppet. if it's not good enough it won't make it in will it.

Just saying there is nothing to lose
