delete thread i sat down looked at the FIVE STAR SE and the quality is like TR47 dvds.

I'd like to see some professional DVD versions of the Special Editions as well. If only to document the constant changes to the Star Wars Trilogy. With the additional changes to the commercial DVD's, now even the Special Editions are obsolete.

Can anyone recommend the best, currently available DVD version of the Special Editions?

The "5-Star" set of the Special Editions are factory pressed, dual-layered, and are the best DVDs of this version currently available. Turn on your Private Messaging and I can give you more info.

you can get the look se dvds they are on dvd5. i dont now why people hate the 1997 se so much sure the jabba and other scenes are bad but some scenes like the death star trench run really look better than the ot one.

Yes, some of those battle sequences near the end are quite well done. There are a few shots I like in particular.

However, my reason for wanting the SE's is mainly because I want a complete catalog of GL's mania. Being a bit of a purist, this site was a blessing for me

thats what i want do, i like both version, i watched the A New Hope OT yesterday its been seven year since i last saw it, and when i saw the tie figthers and x-wings i could tell they where models you could see the space around them was a little lighter then the background.

the best version was the singapore release version
higher bite rate and better art work and the first 9 batchs didnt have the adio error
