I found a remux (not a re-encode) of the BBC broadcast of The Last Crusade, which I downloaded a while back, on an old hard drive.  Yesterday, I PMed ChainsawAsh about it because I thought he was working on the WOWOW caps, but it turns out he doesn't have them.  Personally, I don't care about the Japanese subs, so I'm happy with the WOWOW versions, but I might make an MKV myself as an experiment in encoding at some point.  It won't be for quite a while though, so if anyone wants to the sections without subs, PM me.  (I won't upload the whole broadcast though, just the required sections, because my connection's limited.)

I also have a Canal+HD cap of Raiders of the Lost Ark that might be used to replace subs (but not the BBC version) so the same goes for that.  I never bothered with Temple of Doom because I can't stand it, so I can't help with that one.

Is the WOWWOW version of Raiders anywhere and being shared, could not find it on tehparadox.

You'll have to look for it on newsgroups.

That is too bad then i already pay an insane amount of money to my ISP, not paying for newsgroups.

Whenever someone posts it to tehparadox or a fileshare i will be interested.

Otherwise i will wait an eternity for the blu ray release.

I don't believe the raw transport stream is readily available but there are a few mkv conversions floating around. The 'W23' 1080p series is what I settled on.

e.g.:

"Raiders.of.the.Lost.Ark.1981.1080p.HDTV.x264-W23"

I have all these archived on an external hard drive, I was going to make up my own BD25's of these but I do not have to now.

Confirmed source or DigitalBits rumor mill ?

Like is there an Amazon link for preorder? If not, then i don't believe it.

Wheres the Lucasfilm press on it if it is coming next year ?  They did a big deal with star wars going to blu ray.  I have not heard a peep from the official site on Indiana Jones.

Also TFN would be all over this blu release like flies on shit, now since they have not posted anything or the official site, and nothing has been released by paramount i have my doubts.

Even if you don't believe Bill Hunt, it makes sense logically.

I not believe Bill Hunt since he is slughead.

Which HD broadcast keeps most or all film grain? Is one I want. AVCHD or BD25. I'll take BD25 until Studio release.

Someone upload this in 500MB chunks to MediaFire. Screw torrents, newsgroups, Rapidshit and many others. AVCHD be DVD9 please? Rather having it BD25 on Blu-ray disc.

I don't know what this means, but he generally knows what he is talking about when it comes to release dates.  He has a lot of inside sources.

Watch GoldenEye. Doesn't change my opinion of Bill Hunt.

I would most certainly be interested in these if there is a way to obtain them without the use of the newsgroups .... my internet access is iffy due to it being free right now.  Until I get moved in to my new apartment and school starts it'll be a bit before I have a solid connection.

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Are the official Blurays the theatrical versions or the "special editions" ? Are the WoWoW broadcasts still necessary ?

I think there is a slight color grading difference between them, other than that, I think they are the same...maybe the BD was de-grained?

What is disappointing is that even starting from the DVD's and now the BD, Raiders still has out of focus moments that are distracting for me. You could barely see it on the DVD because of the low DVD resolution but on the BD it really shows up. Its on the WoWoW brodcasts as well BTW.

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

Yep the BD has DNR on the effects shots

The Bluray removed the snake reflection but the other "tweaks" are gone.

How much DNR is on the effects shots? I saw the IMAX version and there was almost no DNR, I only noticed a bit of frozen grain in the first globe/map scene. I've been thinking of picking up Raiders soon and I hate DNR.

Those flaws are inherent in the original photography. Not much you can do about it, really, without introducing other equally (or even more so) "distracting" artifacts.

It is not jurassic Park level, but if you know the wowow version it is easy to spot, your IMAX showing grozen grain would be from the DMR the BD does not show this.

So ... I am NOT crazy ? Thanks :-) I could swear I could see glass between a snake and Indy for many years but I couldn't find it on the Bluray version :-) The DNR is bad, but not THAT bad. I would call it "tolerable"

Author

There is one simple reason to not buy the trilogy on BD for us italians: they redubbed Indy with a new voice... this is NOT tolerable - apart the fact that there is DNR and that some scenes are *CGI improved*...

Were WOWOW versions available for all the three episodes (and for the fourth too)?
