Now that I wrote that silly post, the DSIII is a fine example of why I hate Leland Chee's role. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but it's like if anything ever gets mentioned in some obscure source, he gives it credibility by creating an idea around it that almost canonizes it, then some other author puts in it a book and it actually attains canon status. Clearly the Death Star III was meant to be nothing more then escapist fantasy and an opportunity for the Star Tours patrons to feel like they're actually experiencing Star Wars and not just watching it, but thanks to Mr. Chee, it's probably only a matter of time before it becomes canon. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya!
