Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (1995)
The story was fine, the effects excellent, but it's Billy Zane as the Collector who makes this film as enjoyable as it is. I know, I know - he's not the best actor in the world, and he more often than not appears in movies that are mediocre at best. I'm not joking, though, when I say that I loved him in this, and that it's easiest the best performance I've ever seen him give. I believe that the perfect type of demon is the kind that is handsome and charming on the outside, but with an internal ugliness that barely manages to stay concealed under the surface; Zane portrayed that type perfectly. I can't give such praise to Jada Pinkett Smith's hair, though; it honestly looked like a Siamese cat coughed a massive furball up onto her head.
Mute Witness (1994)
Decent movie, but nothing exceptional. Alec Guinness's brief appearance as the villainous Reaper is easily the highlight of the film.
Urban Legend (1998)
I'm just going to come right out and say it - the only part of the film worth watching is the last twenty minutes or so, after Rebecca's Gayheart's character is revealed to be the killer and she begins hamming it up big time; everything before that is a lacklustre waste of time.
