The reason you think that is because the blue colors in the old BD is more purple. I've tried to alter it more but some scenes are affected in a bad way with blue looking more purple than it should. I think the balance is pretty ok now.

I think it is as good as it is going to get and miles better than the studio release 

I literally just registered here to say how much I love the color restoration that's done on this project. It actually looks like a **gasp!** cheap movie filmed in 1984! I said as much in the Bluray.com thread and, naturally, was laughed out of the page...

People over there claim the BD "finally replicates the actual colors of the film after all these DECADES of wrong transfers"...They don't seem to get that color correction isn't applied like a bad teal filter over the image like on the studio transfer.

Anyway keep up the good work and I'd love to see you do the same thing with the Raiders transfer!

Raiders already has the Wowow HDTV versions so we have the original timing 

I saw it 35mm not too long ago and it was 100% green/blue

The orange flags really highlight this issue

It is sharpened a little but I personally think it resolves more detail, it is the same master set LaserPacific did that the Blu's of Doom and Crusade came from

A quick look on usenet pops up with

That was uploaded in 2010 so it not the new master, and I think we have hijacked the thread a little

No idea, it is from the WOWOW broadcast, not the lesser BBC Lowry mess of a transfer, it is well done and well encoded.

I think it looks more natural and more like the film I know, there are issues with sharpening and aliasing, but they are the same set of transfers on disc for Doom and Crusade.

There are caps in the colour timing thread I linked to earlier today.

FWIW, as far as ROTLA, there's also a 20GB version on RuTracker using the same HDTV master dvdmike, speaks of. I downloaded it awhile ago, and it's really high quality.

For the Terminator shots, I really like the color-corrected timing that dark_jedi and You_Too have done. The teal cast is removed; however, it looks more accurate than the old transfer, which itself never seemed entirely accurate color-wise.

So there is! it is the 1080i original mine was made from by the looks of it!

I will get it and make my own encode!

Nope, those are the Lowry BBC ones, these are the theatrical versions from WOWOW

Actually, the WOWOW broadcasts had the original jeep drop.

They are identical to the Blu as far as changes go, the Blu has the removed reflection also nothing else was changed

But you know, it's always the same on such forums. Sometimes I think it's a bit of a denial because they simply don't want to know that the blu-ray they bought is not the best it could be.

And by the way, not only is there a teal filter over the whole thing, but whites have been turned green as well.

It starts right away with the MGM logo and ends when the credit roll starts.

Look here:

At first glance, your eyes adjust and tells you the text is white.

But here's the color of that text beside a pure white:

This reminds me a lot of what was done with the Fellowship of the ring extended edition blu-ray.

Thanks! And actually, while I like the new Raiders transfer I did an experiment with some screenshots a while ago and I already have settings ready to convert it to the look of the WOWOW broadcast. We'll see if DJ is interested in doing this as a project in the future.
