dark_jedi, those caps look excellent. I'm glad you're undertaking this project. The Terminator movies really should look better than they do on BD.

Most of them look fantastic, all better than the cyan-shifted BD. However, for what it's worth, the pink feels a bit too strong to me on: the cap of Reese and Sarah in the motel room (though this might just be an effect of the fluorescents), and the final shot of Sarah (whites seem to be just a tad pink). However, these are just my opinions; I don't pretend to be a bonafide technical expert on the film, so feel free to disregard.

That being said, what program do you use for color-correcting, out of curiosity? Apologies if it's been stated before; I'm just planning on color-correcting a little something of my own.

About pink skin tones, it seems the original had this to some extent too. However, I'm gonna try to decrease it just a little and see how it affects the scenes where that adjustment is needed the most.

But I'm very happy with the whites, actually in that last shot of Sarah they're pretty balanced. I never trust my eyes on that, and in photoshop some color samples of the whites on her shirt in that shot comes out as a close to perfect balance of RGB. The white in the background is a slight bit more red.

I also have to point out that this release has indeed been changed a lot, scene by scene actually. Some scenes are darker than originally (some even have slightly crushed blacks) while some are brighter. But overall, the whites had a green tint and it's been balanced out nicely now.

Would looking at the "future" sequences from T2 assist in determining the original colour timing for these scenes in T1? Presumably they would have been timed to more-or-less match the look of the first movie.

I think a little yellow is what is needed, not a ton just a push towards it

Actually, I'm about 99.9% sure that more yellow / less blue is not needed. I've checked the RGB balance of many scenes and it's close to where it should be now. More yellow, even if very little, would ruin that balance. No offense of course since we appreciate suggestions!

Anyway, I reduced the pink in skin tones just slightly.

For terminator 2 are you guys only  doing the theatrical cut?

Those screen shots of the first terminator look awesome by the way!

Yes, only Theatricals here.

I take it you guys prefer the theatrical cut only?

I like both cuts of the film but most the time i watch the director's cut.

Forget blu-ray.com. That website is a joke.

Awesome project, guys. Keep up the good work!

Well, don't get me wrong! I use it all the time to see if a particular Blu-ray transfer is good or not, especially when I'm out at a store like Best Buy.

The forum, however, is an entirely different story. It seems as though many of its members are willing to trade almost anything for higher bitrates and more "pop".

DNR? Edge enhancement? Revisionist colortiming? Suck on this.

The studios won't swallow my soul. Shop smart. Shop S-mart.

Arnold's advice: Only shop where there's a "clearnce sale".

Free was a pretty good sale, right?

lol, I never realized "clearance" was spelled wrong on the window.

While the "remaster" is an improvement from the previous Blu, the corrections you guys have made really look spot on. That weird blue green tint I just can't unsee now lol

I'm beginning to realize this about the BD forum...what have I gotten myself into?

“Alright twinkle-toes, what’s your exit strategy?”

Everything looks great in those latest screenies. It's just nice to see it looking more how it was before the teal shift but with the extra definition that comes with the latest blu-ray transfer.

Another good test shot is when Arnie beats up those punks, and you can see the lighting around him is blue in the previous releases.

Man, that shot of Arnie is insane. I've never said this about ANY blu-ray film quality before but, it really looks like he could step outta my screen!!

I think I still prefer the first image... the skin tones look better to me (the second image looks like the skin tones are a bit washed out, even more so with Sarah's shirt).

Regardless, either of those are a vast improvement over the blu release.

BTW, is it even possible to lift the mono sound FX to in essence replace the goofier 5.1 sound FX, but also keep the rear channel audio (to create a 5.1 or 4.1 audio out of the mono as a source)?  For that matter, would it be possible to create an updated 5.1 audio using sound FX from other movies (ie better gun sound FX), being that the Terminator's pistol is the primary culprit towards everyone's shift towards the original mono mix (ie. for as much as I really like DREDD, imagine someone using the PREDATOR sound FX for the mini-gun)?

The blue light through the blinds still looks teal. Can that be fixed?
