Someone seriously overestimated the demand for new Ric Olie action figures. A lot of Episode One stuff was pegwarming for years after 1999, and they clearly forgot that. On the flip side of the coin, Darth Maul stuff flew off the shelves.

There's also only so many variants of a clonetrooper or other characters even die hard collectors are going to buy. There seems to be plenty of high end collectibles coming out for us old coots though.

Star Wars also has to do battle in the toy aisles with GI Joe, Marvel Superheroes and the latest incarnation of the Ninja Turtles these days.
