I had no idea, is it still the best source then?
If someone who can upload 14gb wants to send me a BD-R I can put the MKV on it our just copy my BD-25 with extras and commentaries.

Yes, it's the best source available without DNR and awful color corrections...

Can't you upload the 14GB file in multi parts on a sharing website?

I would be glad to send you a BD-R but sadly i don't have one of these...  actually i don't even have a BD player on my computer.

I am looking at uploading, it may have to be usenet as the ssl protection and my familiarity with it make it ideal for me.

I can delete the HD net version then! good! more room for Abyss verions!

Will update when I get time

For those of you with young kids, I made kid friendly audio tracks for Back to the Future 2 and Back to the Future 3. I also made a few changes to my original edit of the Back to the Future audio, removing the 'Bastards' and SOBs.

All 2.0 stereo AC3 448 kb/s.

Thanks. I've downloaded all three.

I checked out your initial version of BTTF1, and the substitutions were pretty seamless to my ears. Were you still considering making 5.1 versions?

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Edit: Link removed.

I attempted to create a 5.1 Version (AC3, 526 MB) for Back to the Future.  Basically, I took the L,R, LFE, LS & LR channels from the original 5.1 DTS mix, then downmixed my stereo edit to mono to replace the center track. Then I used the 'Match Volume' feature in Adobe Audition to make sure it matched that of the original center track.

As zee944 points out below, taking shortcuts like this does not produce a quality 5.1 mix so I have removed the link. Use the Stereo mix instead.

For those of you just joining us, this is a profanity free - TV-Edit if you will - of the Back to the Future English Audio, sync'd to the Bluray. Nice if you have young children you want to show the film to but don't want them trying our phrases like "I'm gonna get that SOB" in the playground at school, but probably not of interest to anyone else...

Nononono, you shouldn't have done that. Keep it in stereo. You'd have to redo the changes on the Center channel if you really want 5.1.

Edit: explanation: the stereo downmixed to mono and inserted as Center channel screws up the balance of the sound room as anything that was in the Left and Right channels will now be audible in the Center too. It results in a significantly reduced stereo effect, and having the surround and LFE channels is very little compensation for that. Also if the stereo version that wasn't derived from the very same 5.1 mix (and most likely wasn't), it'll not be in perfect sync with the other channels, so weird effects (reverb, flickering and such) is expected to be audible in the music parts. Not to mention that only the Center channel was modified, so when a dialog is audible both in the Center and in another channel (and it happens sometimes), one will hear both. And there's a few more artifacts.

My favorite open matte "blooper" is the scene in Bachelor Party where a character wrapped up in bedsheets falls out a window. Two very visible stagehands are at the bottom of the screen to catch the actor.

One of mine, I don't know why, is in The Mothman Prophecies, there's a scene in the fullscreen version where the main character's hands are bloody for no reason. Probably from a deleted scene.

Yeah, I know, but I was trying to avoid having to do that... well maybe one day I'll do it properly, for now the stereo mix is good enough for me. It is after all, just for the kids.

Yeah, the stereo is fine for this purpose. Just please don't spread the 5.1 version. If it's available some people will think it's valid and jump on it just because of the '5.1' tag.

BTW, next time someone does a kid-friendly version, it's better to rip the subs and then read it through (or look for the bad words by searching). Less risk to miss something.

Good idea. I didn't think of using the subs. I did go online and find the script though and searched through that.

So, any news about a good non-DNR HDTV version of the trilogy?

Maybe Universal will give us a good transfer in 2015 for the 30th Anniversary...

Was hoping that the Canal + would be shared by that one guy, but it looks like that's not going to happen.  : (

So, how is this project going?

1) What HD sources do we have to start working? (Preview Screenchots, please?)
2) Do we already have lossless LD audio rips?

I would like to thank everyone who is supporting this project. Thank you!
