Top lingering questions you want answered in Sequel trilogy? — Page 3

Man, and I thought Eddie and the Cruisers 2 epitomized pointless sequels.

Eddie 2 was an ill conceived follow up when the original film (which didn't make a dent at the box office) became popular on cable and home video, and the soundtrack sold well. I can't even think of a song from the sequel off the top of my head.

Disney has abandoned the so called "cheapquels", but a handful of them were actually not bad.

Ah, yes - unarmoured, naked midriffs. 'Cause Star Wars needs to be as stupidly sexist as possible.

You do realize this is a shot from the XXX parody, right? ;)

They're setting our expectations pretty damn high by hiring an oscar-winning writer.

I'm with Darth Ender on this: I hope the new movies do their own thing. To me that means setting this 40-45 years after RotJ (which is roughly where they're up to now in the books) and going in a completely new direction from there. I kinda hope the EU stuff that's happened in that time doesn't even get referenced. Just because they'd be "ignoring" it doesn't mean they'd be "pretending it never happened."

So, in reply to the OP, assuming LFL isn't rebooting the post-Jedi EU I have no lingering questions.

I hope you realize we've both just seriously dated ourselves.  Now I've got "On the Dark Side" in my head.

I seriously hope that the sequels explore new worlds, new alien life forms, [and to boldly go where no Lucas has gone before]

fixed?

Seriously, after those first two, this is what came to my mind.

Well, it is being directed by a guy who's made two Star Trek movies.

In all honesty, I think I'm excited for Ep. 7, for the following reasons:

1. The trilogy is based on a plot by George Lucas.  George Lucas is actually very good at plot and art design- it's the execution that can get screwed up.  George Lucas writing the plot gives it authenticity as a SW movie.

2. The script is written by Michael Arndt.  Michael Arndt has a stellar record and has lectured on why the original 1977 SW is so great.  Perfect choice because he is not just mediocre- he is good.  The script is the most important part and they got it right.

3. Harrison Ford is back.

4. Although I did not like JJ's Star Trek, I think both he and Disney know that this is too important to screw up.  Especially as the 1st film of many under the Disney brand, Disney will not allow them to release garbage.  Much like 20th Century Fox in the original Star Wars, they will have their eye on how things are going and prevent major blunders from happening.

Hopefully we can find out if the Millenium Falcons radar dish survived the Death Star II explosion.

I was never sure it made it back out and landed on Endor somewhere.

I'm more dated than that, believe me. ;)

I've been suggesting Frink use that song in ROTR.

Top lingering questions; Is Garindan doing well? Did Garindan end up with a girlfriend perhaps?

We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.

I can't imagine Garindan being single or undesirable to the ladies. Have you seen the length and girth of his snout?

Did Max Rebo pull out of his long tailspin of drinking, drugs, and out of control womanizing to reform the band?

Yeah, you're probably right but it seems to be shortage on women in that galaxy. They definitely need to make a spinoff Garindan spy movie if we don't get the answers in the new trilogy.
