Goodbye sleep!
Love it!
By the way, it also occurs to me that "answering lingering questions" is what gave us Yoda-with-tail-in-lightsocket lightsaber duel.

Even the lighting/rehearsal Yoda from ESB look more believable than the joke in the prequels.

No it isn't.

Said in jest it was. But you can still see the character design of Stuart Freeborn in that crude form compared to the Phantom Menace puppet which to me simply looks cheap, more like a redesign or a bad fan-made look alike than a younger version of the same character.
could these two be the mother and father of the Yoda of Episode 1:

I think the top one was a limited edition mask, and the other is a life size statue that cost several hundred bucks back in the 90's. I used to see it in stores that sold pricey collectibles at the time.
One of the problems with CPY is the silicone skin just can't look like the latex skin of the original puppet. If it was a "new" character, it would have been all right, but the original Yoda is burned into our brains, so CPY look way off.
Where were you in '77?
CPY is very displeased with this current discussion..
CPY is probably locked in a dark closet at Skywalker Ranch. ;)

I liked Obi Wan and Darth Mauls lightsabre fight. It was fast and furious.
Its how I imagined Jedi should fight.
I liked the design of the ARC 170 fighter.
That is all.
Battle droids the robotic incarnations of Jar Jar Binks.
My favorite thing to come frome the prequels is Backstroke of the West.
And I do still enjoy the lightsaber fights in Phantom Menace.
I do remember laughing myself to tears when I first encountered BOTW.
The dub version has a strange sort of beauty to it.
Like some lost arcane dialect.

Lighting/rehearsal Yoda in happier times...
A totally different stand in Yoda is seen in the making of Empire documentary.

He looks like John Hurt playing Quentin Crisp.

Combined with the likely position of Frank Oz's other hand, Yoda's facial expression here is severely disturbing.
Dirty your mind is, yes ...
I thought the opening shots of TPM were a complete let down.
The opening shot of Star Wars (1977) set the scene for the trilogy to come.
A tiny beat up ship outgunned and pursued by a sterile mechanical monster is probably the best description you could get for the Rebellion against the Empire.
TPM starts with a tiny Republic ship being swallowed by one of many Euro signs.
That's not a metaphor for anything not even the main story of the first episode.
It also looks boring.
For me it would have made more sense to see the beautiful blue planet of Naboo being surrounded by the blockade (in the shape of money signs).
That way it would lead into the story that follows and it's final resolution.
Slave 1 blasting the hell out of everything in the asteroid scene. Unfortunately he was up against Obi-Wan so ........blasts like a myopic stormtrooper......
I think it was the first time I´ve ever seen a spaceship spit lead (or ion or whatever) with the brute power of modern weapons and not ZAP............ZAP.............ZAP...........like you usually see
The original looks like a 2 ft Mr Miyagi. Intense, Serene and Benevolent
The other looks a bit stoned!
The Yoda from ESB wins hands down.
In the PT, some story elements could have worked if it was better written. The fall of Anakin and the Republic are not inherently bad, but how Lucas handled it could not have happened if the "characters" were more intelligent. Instead of thematically tying the trilogies with ripoff scenes from the OT, they could have paralleled Anakin's fall with the republic's fall.
I do like the phantom menace duel though.
