Is anyone else here frozen with ridiculous anticipation for the Oculus Rift.  I didn't order one, but should be able to see one a week or so after they start shipping.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to order one then.

Which... brings me back to Bioshock.  If I already had a next gen console, it would be harder not to drop $60 on it.  But I don't, and I don't have a gaming PC that would do it justice.  But if

1. I get a Rfit

2. Inifinite supports Rift

3. I get a beefy PC to match my Rift...

Then I'll get Infinite for PC.  Splinter Cell 5 be darned.

shut up and give them your money!

Which them*?  Irrational or Oculus?  I just noticed the other day... I guess I am a Rift Kickstarter backer... so they have some of my money...

I wonder if I pre-order a Rift now that they will credit me back the $1 I kickstarted them?

Is anyone really developing for the Rift outside of John Carmack? - Cool if so but I haven't really heard much of anything.

Not only TF2 as 005 said, but there are lots of indie games in development for it right now.

From the rumors I've heard, there could be some surprises at GDC next week.  Oculus has been saying that they have some big-ish announcements.

My favorite part of the Rift instructions for TF2 was something about how some of the weapons are held lower, so if you can't remember what you have equipped you can just look down.

Is this the future? Because it sounds like we're getting there.

Haha, no. Though Minecraft would be incredible with them...

I am so excited for the Rift. Have you guys seen the videos of that dude who has combined the Rift with a separate weapon peripheral so your sight and aiming are independent?

Did you order one Tobar?  I know you're all over Kickstarter and Indiegogo, etc.

Nah, I didn't have that kind of cheddar at the time. Nor do I at the moment for that matter. BUT SOME DAY....

Tomb Raider (2013) for PC

Damn, this game is as gorgeous as it is fun. Far Cry meets Uncharted if I had to describe it. Expertly designed and executed, and great controls. Got through 90% of it, ending still a hour away but I'm giving this a really, really high recommendation. Shame the console versions won't look as slick as the PC version because this is one of the best looking games I have ever seen. A great reboot that is tons of fun, even if a little on the short side.

Bioshock Infinite.

Wooo! As excited about this game as I have been, I've been pretty skeptical about it from the day the first teaser was unveiled on through up until yesterday.

I loved Rapture, Bioshock's story, and the amazing visuals. Just about everything about that game appealed to me in some way. From the nifty steam punk environment, the dystopian setting, the music, a world sunk into utter madness, the creepy Big Daddy/Little Sister concept, to the deconstruction of Objectivism.

Infinite's storyline being completely disconnected from the original game made me very skeptical. How could it really be Bioshock?

Well, now that I have played it, I realize my skepticism was unnecessary. It is great. I find myself wanting to poke my head in every nook and cranny of Colombia, not wanting to miss a single piece of this intricate and fascinating backdrop the developers built, just like I did the first time I entered Rapture several years ago. The intrigue and mystery of trying to discover what is going on, an element I felt the second Bioshock completely lost, is totally back. And despite the bright sun shinny setting (quite a contrast from the dimly lit dreariness of Rapture), it still somehow manages to be extremely dark and creepy. Like a horror film that takes place in the daytime, but still manages to leave you extremely unsettled. Everything about this game is Bioshock, through and through. They managed to do exactly what I was sure they would be unable to do.

I was pretty sure I was going to really enjoy Infinite, but I didn't think I'd start to fall in love with it and its world like I did the first game. But here I am, totally smitten.

I decided I would go back and give Skyrim another chance, so I retried it, but the game is so buggy, and so drawn out that I got burnt out on it. So I picked up some games I neglected during my Skyrim play.

Red Dead Redemption (2010)

This game was one of the most enjoyable games I have played in years. This game isn't completely without flaw. Though, these flaws actually give it character. The only thing I didn't like is the conclusion. Not gonna get into it, for sake of saving a good game.

It was a long game. I played the game as much as I could. Don't have the DLC's, but planning to.

I'd give the game a solid 8 out of 10.

Outlaws (1997)

Since I've been in an overall Western mood lately, Outlaws was a prime choice. The game considering it's age, holds up amazingly well. The enemies didn't present as much of a challenge as finding your way through each town. More of a laid back Doom feel than an adventure.

The game shows the quality you would expect from a LucasArts game

The game get's a 7.5 out of 10

Currently playing GUN (2005)

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

One thing that hasn't changed much since the old days is video game commercials rarely show you the actual game being played. I was marveling at the Bioshock ad, when I saw "not actual gameplay footage" in microscopic font at the bottom of the screen.

Mind you, it's not as deceptive now as it was in the 80's, when ads for Atari 2600 games looked like something out of Tron, and Colecovision implied stuff would be flying out of your tv set.

Anyone who has been watching the NCAA tournament has seen the Bioshock Ad roughly 8,500,421,002 times so far.

There's a pair of major characters in BioShock Infinite named Fink.  It pulls me out of the game everytime.

One of my college roommates had it.  We played a ton of this, which appears in that commercial.
