The Veronica Mars movie had to get approval from Warner ahead of time before they could do the kickstarter, anything involving someone else's IP would be the same.

I don't really notice the difference between standard definition movies and HD movies unless the movies are really in bad shape (aside from the black bars on the sides of the screen). I think DVD quality should be good enough for the OOT re-releases. You guys should save your money. If you guys keep demanding more and more re-mastered releases, you'll be spending money to get a 4K resolution version of the OOT released when those tv's become the standard.

I made a slight error. Disney owns the IP since Lucas sold the company off, yet 20th century fox still owns distribution of the 2 sagas. 1,2,3, 5, and 6 until 2020 and 4 indefinitely. I'd gladly spend a few thousand dollars on a properly-restored 4K digital copy of the OOT.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

Keep in mind the studios are barely putting out back catalog titles on DVD as it is these days. DVD isn't the cash cow it once was anymore. And Lucasfilm did not release the saga on DVD again in 2011, they actually had existing store stock pulled according to some.
4K is going to be a very tough sell as so many people have upgraded to HD already, and whatever content there is going to have draconian copy protection up the wazoo.
Where were you in '77?
Hacock was filmed in 4k resolution as a way to fight of bootleggers. So that could benifit from 4k resolution tv's if that bluray is ever released. Other than that I don't know if many hollywood films were filmed in 4k resolution.

Thanks for that- I guess the Burbank address would more likely reach the right person; I don't think writing to the resort address would be of much use.
Maybe calling the main switchboard # (818) 560-1000 and asking where to send a letter of the type that we want to send? And I guess then also asking if there is a specific person we should be calling to leave a message on 5/21-5/25.
