Yep might be SP2 indeed. I've tried several fixes but the connection keeps on getting cut. Wonder why... and this only happens when torrenting. Maybe the number of connections just is too much (?)

Anyway, I think SP2 is fine otherwise, the firewall can be disabled and you do not have to have automatic updates on either if you do not want to. I myself prefer a third-party firewall to the Windows firewall thingy.

If you want to get rid of the "hey, your updates are not on" etc balloons in the system tray, you can disable the "security center" service in control panel -> admin tools -> services. That won't disable firewall or the updates, only the balloons... well, enough rambling there's plenty of fixes/hacks for SP2 on the net.
