The slavery issue always bugged me.

The Republic/Jedi were meant to be better than the Empire but they allowed slavery outside their borders and employed slavery for their grand army.

Even the Rebels maintain the general slave attitude to droids (and we are meant to relate to R2 and 3PO as sentient independent characters).

If the technology to build one Death Star exists proliferation of that technology must be a problem which I hope gets a more sensible exploration than the early EU.

Leia seemed to me to have a darker dark side than Luke, her character seemed to be heading in a direction of evil that I would like to see explored.
