I swear to God, I'll pistol whip the next person who says 'Botwiki'.

So, I picked up a copy of Sim City. I'ts generally good fun although lacking a few features I was expecting. Overall, a good game but nothing all that special.

That said, the game totally deserves all of the negative press it's got from the absolute cluster-fuck of a release. To play the game at all you need to be constantly connected to the Maxis servers. Problem is that the servers constantly crash or are taken offline for maintenance - this happens even after they upgraded from an initial 8 servers to over 20.

Apparently I'll be entitled to a free game from the EA catalogue for my troubles, at least.

The part I don't get is that they claimed that they were unprepared for the amount of players. Now my math may not be the best but if you produce and ship [and sell!] X amount of units - shouldn't you expect X amount of customers?

Really looking forward to Bioshock Infinite...

@Bingo

I'm pretty sure you can't even buy the 'fragile' xbox 360 anymore. Stores that do trade-ins are refusing to accept those older models now. At least around my parts. The newer models seems pretty rock solid.  It's also much quieter than the older models. No idea re: ps3.

Ultimately, are there any Playstation exlusive games that you want? If not, then probably go an xbox.

If you've got a ps2 then yo might be more at home with a ps3 but in terms of Gaming I find things to be fairly awkward. like trying to play online with friends..

@ xhonzi, I have a feeling that the 'new' mistakes will be along the lines of DRM.
