If you want to extend the fun try playing the Ion Cannon sequence before the battle sequence.

Amazing work. Looks beautiful from start to finish to me :)

And yeah, that shot of the AT-ST firing his guns was great!

Just a very little thing I never saw though. It's also on the original footage. It's at 1:35: Don't we see something that looks like a laser hit appearing on the back of the AT-AT, but without any actual laser beam hitting that point?

(again it's really nitpicking from me and just something that suddenly strikes me. Sorry if that point was already discussed or if it's just my eyes playing tricks on me, lol)

Yeah, it definitely looks like Luke was supposed to hit those points. This kind of effect is also clearly evident at 1:45. Note the main body area just above the AT-AT's front legs and you'll see two blaster hit the armor and leave two marks.

I guess the Snowspeeder's blasters would have to angle themselves in order to hit those marks which wouldn't be all that realistic given how mounted they look.

Dak's helmet has always been blue.

His helmet is recycled from the vanishing "blue-squadron" in ANH.

Basically in the first film Luke was originally meant to be Blue 5 but the blue insignia and markings on the models interfered with FX shots so the squadron became red but the shots with blue insignia had already been filmed.

Gold Squadron was the original Red Squadron which may explain this toy:

Ady changed the Blue markings to red in ANH:R but there is still a continuity issue because in the battle only Luke has that insignia in red and all the helmets are distressed and weathered but as you can see these look rather shiny.

Thanks for clearing that up.  Still it's definitely no biggie whatsoever, I just thought it odd when I thought the Rebel Insignia was merely red.  But not necessarily as it shows. :)

I don't post here much but I just have to comment on the video.

It looks fantastic! The color looks great and the additions are perfect!!

Thank you Ady for sharing your work with us.

I do not fear the Dark Side as you do.

Don't underestimate the power of those comparison videos and pictures.

I showed the better half the latest clip and he asked in honest ignorance what had changed.

It became a bit of a game of where's Waldo after that but the first thing he noticed was the colour adjustment.

"I take it that blue mess is the original" <his actual words.

Did anyone get chills when they saw this:

I got goosebumps when I noticed ladyferry back in the thread.

The whole thing is a top turn.

The strange way the AT-STs move around their giant cousins in the binocular shot really sets the scene.

It's rather disturbing and fresh yet it fits.

I seem to remember that Adywan was hoping to buy the Star Wars: Blueprints book by Rinzler....

Alright, I guess I'll be the one to ask...

Ady, how did you accomplish adding the new walkers? The accurate, incredibly obscure walkers to boot!

CGI, I'll try to get a wallpaper of it.

The "ESB:R Facts" page still contains lies (while you're at it ;)

They should have CGI in Star Trek.

That was my thought when I saw the clip: what will my friends say, who don't follow this thread ?

so I waited for the compairson video - and BOOM! - as if not before the difference is remarkable, but in contrast, how BLUE Hoth looked, and how NICE it is now - I wish this version would play in cinemas ;-)

hehe, and cool touch with the snowspeeder markings, making the rogue squadron stick out and Luke's speeder unique!

OMFG Ady!!!

I just peed myself.

Absolutely incredible sir.  I have never been more excited for a release since.... well.... since the 3 years between Empire and Jedi!!!

In all seriousness - your work is what will cement the OT as fan favorites even among the current generation of kids who never saw them on the big screen in an era of total CGI.

OUTSTANDING!!

Gonna watch that clip a few hundred more times now.

I find your lack of faith…disturbing

That was an awesome birthday gift!!! Great job ady!!! By the way, at about 8.5 seconds in, there's some artefacting in the bottom left corner - is that just the Vimeo upload?

I'm still here checking the thread on a daily basis, floating around the forums like a deranged force-ghost my dears...

What a great and awesome work! I like the Hoth battle :) Than you ... I'm looking forward to see the whole movie this year.

A short question:

will be additional languages added in ESB:R ?

Have to agree. Best shot of the trailer and a shining example that CGI can work when used carefuly and modestly. But it does add so much...
