Well I paid £26 earlier this morning so I guess that brings it down to £250 now? ;)

You shouldn't have posted specific details! Now we know that FVDnz = Fabian Lelo!!!

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

DONATION GOAL "BATTLE OF HOTH" CLIP IS HERE!!!!!!

Although we haven't yet reached 100% of the target, we are now down to double figures so i thought that i would upload the clip now because i'm going to be pretty busy working on ESB:R from now on. It runs for approx 2 1/2 minutes and shows the beginning of the Battle of Hoth.

There are a few tweaks here and there left to do  but overall it is 100% complete. As always the audio track is only a temporary track and will be missing sound effects as the audio track won't be started work on until after the video side of things is 100% complete.

Later i will upload a comparison video.

And once again a HUGE thanks to everyone that donated. This just wouldn't be possible without your support

(Make sure you turn HD on as Vimoe's SD version is pretty low quality)

Good golly, that was nice.

ESB never looked this good. Even when the colors were straight!

My jaw literally dropped and stayed that way for the duration. o_o That was just....wow.

Beautiful job as always, Ady -- the colors in particular are gorgeous. Two things I noticed immediately:

1) There are still AT-STs! Woohoo!

2) At 1:21, the mask feathering around Luke's face is visible (and on Dak's face in the next shot), giving the impression of a slight drop shadow over the view out his window. I'm sure that's because of the feathering needed to blend all the layers you're working with, but if that can be tightened slightly, it might look even better.

All of your subtle additions are awesome -- the fixed transparency in the metal struts, the updated displays, etc. Thanks for sharing!

SPOILER (for those reading ahead but have not watched the clip):

I have to brag just a tiny bit.  Ady, you mentioned a surprise.  Well, today I was read the ESB novel during lunch, and I was pondering on the part where Luke fell off the AT-AT and how we see the AT-ST in the background.  I thought how sad I was that you were going to remove them, and then it struck me: THAT'S THE SURPRISE!!!  I almost wrote a post speculating on it, but then I didn't want to spoil it for anyone else, and besides, I could have been wrong.  But I can't tell you how much it pleases me to see those chicken walkers there!  They are simply beautiful and fit perfectly!  Thanks for your marvelous work and for putting the effort to include them!  I know that everyone is happy with your work, but know that you've especially pleased me.  And they're perfect: the ESB version rather than the ROTJ version!  Thanks, Ady!

Sojourn, that mask feathering is there on the original. As i haven't changed the background on that shot there isn't anything i can do about that without replacing the whole background and i didn't really want to remove the original model work in that shot

Yes, the AT-ST's were the surprise. They have been there all along but i wanted to keep them secret until the film was released, but decided that now is the time. It's been a tough secret to keep

Rule #1 - Adywan lies ;) (Doctor Who fans will get that one)

Well, you had me thoroughly convinced until today!  I think I even wrote a post some time back pleading for you to reconsider.  *shakes head* I can't believe you've been lying to us the whole time :)

Yeah, I remember you, 005, telling us that we "wouldn't even miss them."  Man, I can't wipe the smile off my face!

Has Bingo seen it yet? If he hasn't, I want to have a video of his reaction.

Was he a proponent?  I probably am too new to have read his arguments for it.  Here was my plea, but it looks like it was given with the assumption that Adywan probably wouldn't include them himself.  However, I will say that I remember when I wrote it that I secretly hoped he would read it and that it might influence his decision :)

It all started when i announced that i was removing the original 2 shots of the AT-ST for continuity reasons, or something like that, and that there wouldn't be any AT-ST's in ESB:R. But all along i had already added  more and had  replaced the 2 original with the new CG versions.

Now here is the comparison video for the latest clip:

Awesome!

I must say I thought I won't miss AT-STs if they are gone, but I am so glad you left them in. And both AT-ATs and AT-ATs move so much smother ;)

Once again, adywan, you did it, like the first time when I saw ESB film, I have chills, For 2 min and half, I was 11 years old.. The surprises were great and very subtle, The ESB:R Release day, all star wars fans will cry with joy and say 'Today will be a day long remembered'. Adywan thank you, and all those who helped.

I know I'm cluttering up your thread with my giddiness, but it just is truly awesome to me.  I mean, not only are the effects very nice and not only does it repair the continuity problems with more flair, but it simply is a strategically sound move in a real battle.  You wouldn't want to fight a battle with only slow-moving artillery; you'd want some light support to take out any small craft that could exploit your heavy vehicles' vulnerabilities.  It just makes so much sense to have them there.  So to me, this is both visually and logically very satisfying.  I'll shut up now.  Thanks Ady for the special clip and all your hard work.

Actually, confession time folks.

Ady sent me an earlier draft of this with the AT-STs and all.

I was really down at the time and it really gave me a lift (eyes leaked a bit) but I've had to spend the better part of a year moaning about the lack of AT-STs when I knew what was up (ain't I a stinker?).

Someone on here nearly spoiled the surprise over on Facebook but our collective internet poker faces held everything together.

As I said to Ady back then (and Endy noticed) the joy is these aren't just AT-STs.

These are all Hoth AT-STs which look very different to the Endor version.

It's the attention to detail that lifts this above and beyond expectation.

I was hoping to see a bit of speeder flap action but perhaps that idea has been dropped.

See... now you don't know if I know it hasn't or not, the little trust in me you had has been totally unhinged hee...hee...hee.

Super work! I love how flawless and integrated the AT-STs are. Perfect!

Though... I thought you were going to add moving snowspeeder flaps to the cockpit shots :(

To add to what I penned earlier, I was so blown away by the sequence that I didn't do the obvious thing (to rip the thing off Youtube, where it was very briefly posted and watch it again or show it to anyone).

So all these lovely details have been tucked into my memory until now.

Superb work as always, Ady.  Thank you so much for sharing... Mind you, after your admission about telling lies, I now wonder what other surprises you might have in store for us! :-)
