Face/Off was the dumbest rocks-for-brains thing ever.

This X 1000.

I watched the first 15 minutes of Iron Sky last night and then went to bed.

I'm not sure I'm going to bother watching minute 16.

I haven's seen any of it yet but I periodically get e-mails from the team who made it due to my enjoyment of Star Wreck : In The Pirkinning.

I saw Face/Off a couple of years ago and it is by all means terribly dumb and bloated.

But I enjoyed it.

Harry and the Hendersons (1987)

One of my all time favorite films from my childhood.

Me too. Aside from seeing a few minutes on television I don't think I have watched it since the 1980s. I went to Disney World in 1996 and there was a guy dressed as Harry, and the costume and his mannerisms were so authentic you'd think Kevin Peter Hall was in the suit (and also still alive--he played Predator as well but then died of AIDS a few years later).

As Harry and The Hendersons was a Universal film, it seems unlikely he would hang out at a Disney park. ;)

IIRC, one of the actors that replaced Hall on the HATH tv series used to work in the theme parks.

Actually you are right. It was Universal Studios, right down the road from Disney World. Disney World is actually pretty boring, MGM and Universal had all the cool rides.

Some of it is stupid fun - the rest is just stupid. A fun movie about Nazis hiding on the moon becomes an awkward movie about american politics [the president is a parody of Sarah Palin]...

You've seen the best part of it.

Dr. Strange (1978)

I'm surprised to find this movie not that bad. The story's mediocre, the budget isn't that great, the wardrobe's weak, it's dated, and the actor playing Strange has wonky hair. Despite all that, though, the performances are fairly good and the special effects are adequate given the made-for-TV nature of the film and the decade it was made in.

Well that's unfortunate.  It's such a great concept.

I saw the trailers for that years ago and have always wanted to see it. You're telling me it's not very good??

If a movie with a title like Hobo With A Shotgun can deliver on it's promises I expect this to.

Hardly a new idea...

And there was a gut busting riff on MST3K once about Paul Anka battling Nazis on the Moon. ;)

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

Being a diehard dyed-in-the-wool Spidey fan, I really really wanted to like this film more than I did. Unfortunately, I just wasn't very impressed. I didn't like Garfield's portrayal of Peter, I didn't buy into the Peter-Gwen romance, disliked the Lizard's design, and felt too many characters - Connors, Uncle Ben, Captain Stacy, etc. - weren't developed enough.

The Raimi films were flawed - very, very flawed - but at the end of the day I can watch them (the first two, anyway) and still feel like I am watching a Spider-Man film, however unorthodox most of the characterization may be. I didn't feel anything like that with this film. I felt like I watched a film about a superpowered skater boy running around in a knockoff Spidey costume.

I enjoyed it enough, though, to give the inevitable sequel a chance. Hopefully it'll be a better experience.

saw the new Die Hard movie, have to say I didn't like it that much.   I truly hope this is the last one.

Why?

If they make another one you don't have to watch it.

I haven't seen any since the second one and the only bit I liked of that film was the nude yoga.

I think it is high time for the series to end and don't want the series getting any worse than it already it.

I'm really hoping they do make one more so they can try to end on a high note.

but isn't Bruce Willis getting a little too old to be running around shooting terrorists?

They won't stop making DH sequels until McClane goes into space. (After being cryogenically frozen for 100 years.) Alan Rickman's character will be resurrected as a clone, and Reginald VelJohnson will return as a cyborg cop with a twinkie addiction. ;)

^ I'd pay to see that.

If some people still want to see them/make them why should anyone else care?

If you aren't going to see them anyway how can their existence be a problem?

I wish they would stop making the crappy Milla Jovovich Resident Evil films and I do watch them, it's just that the potential for really good films based on the games is there and they will never be realised with the series in it's current form.

I can't see any form of Die Hard movie being an improvement and as I don't watch them they just don't impact on my life in anyway.

I didn't even like the first one that much.

I really liked Bruce Willis in Moonlighting and 12 Monkeys.

He was okay in The Fifth Element (but to be honest anyone with the right muscles for that top could have played that role), the same is basically true of Unbreakable.

That's his career as far as I'm concerned, two good films and a telly show that went on a bit too long.
