What was the reason for the use of DVNR on the blu ray.  I mean if they restored the movies and the quality was there for all to see why ruin it by removing an integral part of the image and what the Cinematographer intended us to see?

The film prints i saw in theaters way back when were very fine grain anyway and not grain heavy except in the scenes where you had optical generations for the special effects.

There was zero need for Universal to DVNR a film that was not so old.  I mean 1985 with the first film was the oldest.

Man is this thread bringing me down.  My all time favorite movie and one of the greatest movies ever made and they had to go and eff it all up.

On top of that it appears the WOWOW and Canal+ versions might never be available again. : (
