I am in the UK so my £530 equates pretty accurately to your $880. I had major success painting the black rigging to LB grey so that should look good as well as saving a fortune.

I finally started my build last night and have just put the 6 legs on. It is looking really good so far although I am torn between wanting to rush it to completion and wanting it to take for ever...
