Whatever it ends up being called, it'll be awesome. 2.1 or 2.5 still seem like good ideas that make sense. Agree that a 3.0 would be a little uncalled for. 2.1-2.4 could simply be "internal" revisions that were never released, so a 2.5 makes sense.

For now, we have:
1.0 AVCHD
2.0 AVCHD
2.0 MKV

In the next wave, we'll see whatever first, main, huge, best, "this is it" format, hopefully followed by an AVCHD, as it's still a nice format for various reasons.

All I know, is that I have a blank blu ray just waiting for some very worth data (and wouldn't mind mailing Harmy a few as a thank you)
