Talking of hotels :
The movies haven't gotten into what happens to the dead too much. Are there massive cemeteries from the Clone Wars on the planets where clones fell? Are there ornate ancient Jedi tombs on forgotten worlds?
Where were you in '77?
Let's be honest. =P

I'd love to see something like that!
I could see Luke visiting Jedi burial grounds to seek some counsel with them. Then you could work in the ghosts of Obi-Wan, Yoda, Qui-Gon, etc.

That doesn't preclude background plates being shot on locations around the world.

Those are amazing! The last one ought to be in a Bond film someday...

Vasquez Rocks was used for Vulcan in Trek '09 with a lot of CGI tweaking.
I saw this as more of an easter egg shout out to Arena, rather than an actual location.
It was used for one shot of Spock on Vulcan in Star Trek IV.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Anyway, the main point I was making was that it's a location that has a history of being in Trek, one of the reasons why I don't think it'll be in Star Wars anytime soon.

The 1st one looks like a good place for a Yavin, Naboo, or Endor location.
The 2nd one looks like it could be a very high mountain on Tatooine.
and the 3rd can be a location on Naboo
One day we will have properly restored versions of the Original Unaltered Trilogy (OUT); or 1977, 1980, 1983 Theatrical released versions (Like 4K77,4K80 and 4K83); including Prequels. So that future generations can enjoy these historic films that changed cinema forever.
Yoda: Try not, do or do not, there is no try.
They could come and stay near me there's some Star Warsish looking objects lying about.
...pretty sure those are CG representations of planned projects?
The bottom one is (it's actually in the process of being built now) so it will be finished pretty soon.
The top one was finished three years ago.
Both are Andy Scott pieces (I think they look a lot like the sculptures around Coruscant and Naboo).
The underwater one is a conceptual rendering.
“In the future it will become even easier for old negatives to become lost and be “replaced” by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten.” - George Lucas
It's a Star Wars film post 1997, I dare say they could make the whole film in a conceptual rendering.
And I'm getting old and my eyes don't work as well as they did.
