Please excuse my ignorance because I haven't been following this thread faithfully.  I'm just curious if there will be a 'Purist' version like Ep IV or if there will even need to be one.  I love Ep IV Revisited but it's only because of the Purist version.  Some things that it thankfully removed were deal-breakers in your original version for me.

No need for purist, it's the same cut (timed to the original) with enhancements. Any changes people can't deal with will be up to them to ignore. ;-)

Another ignorant question, please excuse me for it.  What version is it being based on: the 2004 DVD, the 2011 BD, etc;,. ?

The 2011 BD, I believe.

Today i have finally been able to access my main PC. My workstation is almost completed, but i just couldn't wait so i had to set it back up.

So, because i'm in a good mood, here is a selection of comparison screenshots. This will show you just how different the colouring of ESB:R will be compared to the horror that is the Official Blu-ray

What's with the green uniform and the pink insignia on the blu-ray version on this next one?

Where has all the colour gone on the blu-ray in this next one:

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/3688

And why does the colour in this next one look like a really bad b&w colourized job? Just looks at the skin tones (or lack of them) on their faces in the blu-ray version

Wow, Ady, those are just beautiful!

I was just wondering, there are these weird red and green color maps in some areas of this picture (mainly visible on Han's chair and hair) now I sometimes get these too when doing color correction. I was wondering if you perhaps had any ideas on what they are and how to maybe get rid of them.

Also, so far I did most CC in Premiere but AE has some better tools, so I'd like to use that for CC on ESB, so I was wondering if you maybe had some tips on how to keep the project manageable (whenever you make a cut in AE, you get a new layer, so when doing shot by shot CC it always gets really confusing for me).

Thank you

I'm really looking forward to seeing ESB:R :-)

Thanks for sharing, Ady! And congrats on getting things set up in your new place.

Also, I can't believe how much of a difference you've made in this shot especially -- the original looks almost like an old 8mm film transfer in comparison!

Bravo Ady, the difference is insane, between the "BLUE bluray Edtion" and yours, (I only saw the bluray bonus disc) ...I think that no matter which company made the color correction, they just forgot to remove their sunglasses...how they cannot see this BLUERAMA thing ?!  and How do you manage to achieve this ? can't wait to see ESB RE.

Those are remarkable job, and suddenly all Hoth feels real again.

About Dagobah. I really like how the colors are different where the light comes from and not just one green-blue tint all over the shot. The only problem ive seen in that picture and in some recent videos of Revisited is that Yoda and his hair look more blueish than they should.

This is a comparison between the bluray, the revisited edition (from october) and screenshots form a copy of the old "just color corrected" version of Empire Strikes Back Adywan did long ago. I know that was just a test, and maybe it makes Dagobah too bright. But maybe a step between those two?

I was watching ESB, and noticed that, on approach to Degobah, the planet is not there and then suddenly is.

R2 *beeps* (no planet visible):

Luke: "Yes, I'm sure it's perfectly safe for droids" (planet/atmosphere suddenly visible):

Might there be a way to have the blue of the outer atmosphere gradually appear and/or the planet be seen behind R2 during their conversation?

Beautiful screencaps all! I love the filmic quality you brought back. ESB no longer looks digitally shot.

Just curious about the change in this shot. The landscape outside the hanger doors is slightly changed. Is this for continuity purposes? If so, damn, you're good! :)

Wow! Ady's color-correction really brings out a lot of "hidden" detail. It looks fantastic!

Absolutely amazing too see those screenshots. Didn't believe my eyes, when confronted with how bad the blu-rays actually are.

Your colour-corrections are how I remember the shots. And I cannot wait for my newborn son to grow up, so that he may enjoy the TRUE Star Wars.

Thanks

Hmm, is Dagobah going to be bluer than the blu-ray?  Also, did anyone notice how blue the snow looked in this shot:

Nothing wrong with blue twilight colors as long as the skin tones aren't lost. Note how Luke's face isn't as weird and blue and washed out in Adywan's version.
