Funny you should mention that, Warbler. Peter Jackson is in negotiations to adapt it with his LOTR writing/producing crew. Wants it to be his next flick after King Kong.

I suggest making it his next flick and scrapping King Kong. King Kong has already been remade too many times. You should never remake a classic.

Luke, not sure what the situation is now, but I know a couple months ago New Line was trying to work out a deal with MGM, becuase MGM has the movie rights to it and New Line Cinema does not...personally, I don;t care what movie company pays for the movie as long as PJ directs it.

What I've heard about The Hobbit, is that Peter Jackson wants to do it...after he finishes with King Kong, but that was a while ago, and plans always change.

"The Lovely Bones" was going to be directed by Steven Spielberg at one point and time. I don’t' know what happed to that but I was really happy to hear Peter Jackson was interested in it. It would be a great film to had to his filmography.

As for "The Hobbit" MGM holds the distribution rights to the film and New Line owns the rights to make the film into a movie. MGM is now for sale and it's up in the air between Sony and Warner Brothers as to who gets the company and its film library. If Warner gets it we might see "The Hobbit" sooner than thought.

I'm keeping my figures crossed that Warner gets it. The old cartoon version isn't good at all.

We might be closer than I thought. It sounds like Warner is getting closer to a deal. I found this over at www.thedigitalbits.com if anyone is interested.

"Finally this afternoon, CNN/Money is reporting that Warner may be about to close the deal in its months-long effort to purchase the MGM film library. MGM has reportedly restricted some of its employees' ability to trade shares in the company, a strong indicator that something's afoot behind the scenes. Thanks to Bits reader Chris W. for the heads-up on this. Other news sources (click here and here) also have updates on the deal today, saying that to make their bid more attractive to MGM majority owner Kirk Kerkorian, Warner has shifted their offer to all cash (from cash and stock). Looks like this could be for real, folks."

We'll have to see.

update on my car situation...

i got my car back today safe and sound...
turns out the mechanics were trying to screw me on it... no surprise there...
and because the damage was due to theft i didnt have to pay the $500 deductable..
so all in all it is a very good day for me!


however it does suck going from a 2003 Toyota to a 1993 Dodge...

it was abandoned in a parking lot somewhere but nothing was stolen out of it...

come on Motti! I'm glad the car was found and so was everything in it, but this lowlife stole the car right out of Luke's driveway! Not to meantion what this did Luke emotionally from the begining of the theft to the recovery of the car. This guy is a punk! I say teach 'im a lesson! YOU DON'T MESS WITH OT.COM FORUM MEMBERS
