If they fix him who cares if the story focuses more on him?
If he is fixed he is an interesting character and the film needs at least one.
He is easier to fix than any of the other planks in the film because he is totally artificial.
You can change anything about him with much more ease than making me give a toss if Qui-gon dies.
In fact If I were Ady I'd take brash's challenge and put more new improved Jar-Jar in the other two prequels as well.
Each film has epic problems and TPM is broken long before Jar-Jar turns up.
But if this project can fix Jar-Jar, make Anakin a character you care about and make his romance with Padme believable in any way Revisited will prove just how careless George was with all that talent at his finger tips and serve as a warning to whoever is making the sequels to Jedi and Prometheus.
Jar-Jar has become a totem for everything which went wrong with the PT which in some respects isn't fair because there is so much wrong with it.
It's easier to cut him out but it says more to make him work.
The same is true about the Ewoks in ROTJ. Keep them in but make them work.
I don't think any amount of editing will make the Clone Mystery in AOTC work.
That is something that is best left on the cutting room floor.
