have any plans been announced yet for what they are going to do in Nov? It will be the 50th anniversary. They've got to do something BIG.

I heard whatever it is, Rose and/or Jack will not be involved/haven't been approached. :-(

Here's a general round up of quotes.
Big Finish are also doing a multi-Doctor story with Tom, Peter, Colin, Sylvester, Paul with Bill, Pat and Jon making some sort of noises from beyond the grave.
Puffin books also have something special to read (Doctor Who has always been a multi-media entity).
There is also this coming up too.
I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this:
Now all the have to do is animate the whole of Marco Polo to get a complete series one.
I personally would prefer a more free interpretation of the story than a reconstruction of how it might of looked on the television.
No telly snaps exist for episode 4 and the story has the potential to make a rather visually lush animated episode with lots of colour and movement.
I still hope the original episodes will pop up one day but as they seem to be genuinely lost and faking them seems an empty activity to me when there are no surviving episodes of the story to match the look of.
Just had a student reading a Doctor Who novel in my class. It was Matt Smith, but still, it made my day.
edit:
no knock against Matt Smith. I just don't watch the new show, so I wish it was a Sylvester McCoy story.
I just can't take Colin Baker, with his white man fro, fat face, and clown costume seriously.

Apart from the clown costume, you described me to a tee.
...
.....
A movie about the beginnings of the show? What a cool idea!
Where were you in '77?

Didn't they tone down the costume for a Who stage play Colin did?

Colin said the great thing about wearing that costume was he was the only person who didn't have to look at it.
He always wanted to wear black.
Big Finish did produce a plain blue version for their *ahem* audio range
but it did get to be 'seen' in the webcast animation Real Time.
That variant costume even got it's own action figure :
The anniversary special is to be in 3D.
That was such a hit last time they tried it.
didn't know that thing was in 3D.
Oh it was terrible.
And yet it started out so promising.
It was all down to BBC internal politics as usual.
Guesssssssss who elssssssssssssssssssse issssssssssssssss coming back.

Yaaaay!! I hope they don't do a complete overhall of their designs like they did with the silurians, all the designs really need is a little polish and cleaning up.

For the fore-mentioned docu-drama a key moment from Dalek Invasion Of Earth has been recreated.
And while they were there this fun evolution shot was also composed.
Those Tardis set pics are amazing. If someone told me these were 1963 stills, I'd probably believe it! Really looking forward to seeing this.

Mooooooooooore Newssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!
They look perfect.
I was really pissed off with what Moffat.
Did with the Silurians.
Not only did he bugger up the chance to have these guys
:
updated but still alien looking but he also screwed over the chance of bringing back another big species The Draconians.
Vastra is a fun character but she would have been even better as a warrior princess of a chauvinist feudal culture like the Draconians who already looked more human than the Silurians did.
Just watched "The Three Doctors."
Doc 3 totally has a wicked MMA fight with a reptile monster from Omega's mind or something. I dunno, but it totally got him in a rear naked choke.
The Gel Guards aren't even remotely reptilian.
They are blooby cyclopses with death ray firing crustaceous pincers.
They make a great noise though.
Bar blubblub blarb!
Ten and Rose are going to be in the 50th special.

It feels like we have had 50 bloody years of Rose bloody Tyler.
Imagine if she brushed shoulders with River Song.
There must be some kind of catastrophic multiverse shattering effect when Mary Sue's collide.
Will it be the real 10th or the sprouting hand 10th?
