This is a cool project. Today I found one of these books for 25¢. Very nostalgic.

In regards to a tablet version, I have a suggestion. If you have access to a Mac, Apple offers a free app called iBooks Author which can make rather sophisticated iPad books with embedded audio and video, etc. Just a thought.
