IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Believe it or not, I'm walking on air.  Also, the edit is almost ready.  I'm arm twisting a few things and then we'll be ready to rock, hopefully in a few weeks.

In the meantime, Silverwook noted that the trash compactor monster (apparently a "Dianoga") clip looks really dark.  It's the original video (I think taken from ANH:R) and a google image search seems to confirm that it is supposed to be really dark...but it does look strange against the other brighter images in the montage.  So I decided to play with the brightness, contrast, and color correction plugins that Vegas has.  Here's the result:

(original clip first, followed immediately by corrected clip)

I've never tried this before, so I have no idea if it looks good or not.  Thoughts?

Almost too bright. Take it down just a notch or two maybe?

The SE Sarlacc with the uppy downy beak thing looks a bit sexually worrying.

I was merely suggesting it as a montage element, along with the one eyed trouser dianoga.

Any attempt to make those movies not awful beyond words is an ambitious endeavor.

I had to endure them all in one sitting (with a friend who claimed to like them) and afterwards even he scratched his head in bewilderment like a man emerging from a state of hypnotic trance and proclaimed that they weren't as good as he remembered.

The Michael Myers from the Halloween films is sometimes amusing though.

Edit is 99% complete.  I need to make a few minor changes based on feedback, finish the end credits, and import the final crawl and one special effects shot.

I've started work on the DVD but it will take a little while.  In the meantime, I plan to debut this sucker via a one-time live streaming event.  Date is TBD, but if all goes well it will be within the next two weeks.

Stay tuned...

Settle down, Veruca.

I went to the encore of Rifftrax Live: Plan 9 From Outer Space tonight. The "slideshow" that plays before the presentation was chock full of funny quotes and such. A quote from Tommy Wiseau was immediately followed by the "I hate sand" line. Coincidence?

We saw that one live...it was awesome. Sadly I haven't had the chance to see their other riffed movies.

In any case, Tommy Wiseau as Jango is inspired. LoL, I wonder about that coincidence....hmmm. Are those kooky rifftrax guys posting here?

Just an early heads up, I'm targeting Saturday night, Feb. 16th for the debut.

Would it be okay to invite a close friend or two to watch the stream? Can't recall now if it was a private room when you streamed TRM or not.

If you'd rather keep it "in the family" that's fine too.
