Well, the time is at hand. I don't even engage in most personal activities on this computer anymore because I still have a virus. I will not do anything money related and I altered all my passwords on clean computers. I thought I'd completely gotten everything, but clearly I have not, as Avast! keeps catching various .exe files trying to access a malware site out of the blue. Several scanners had caught nothing, but finally Sophos identified a new rootkit that it successfully removed to some extent, but not completely. I manually deleted the files, but I'm just tired of all this crap. I'm going to reinstall Windows and make a recovery disc right away. I have a lot of stuff I hope I can backup, but I worry about backing up the viruses as well. What a nightmare!
