The End of the World may not be a physical end, but a spiritual shift. Like the band R.E.M. once sang. "It's the End of the Word as We Know It, and I feel fine".
I just watched the film "Apocalypto", and that showed an end to a civilization, by the introduction of alien visitors that changed the lives of the indigenous peoples of North, Central, and South America forever. It was to them, the end of their world. So don't get stuck in thinking that the "end of the world" will bring visual destructive manifestations on a biblical scale all at once. The change of things may not be felt by everyone at the same moment, and it may be veiled to most at the spiritual level.
So I'm dead, then?
The real question may just be, have you ever truly lived?
