25 guys spending their weekend on the fantasy football "draft" or putting on their little sports costumes to go to the bar (and yes, I call sports jerseys 'costumes') just seems like a waste of time, and it's up to anyone how to waste their time, but I get weird looks for holding my annual "6 Star Wars Movies In A Day" marathon.

In my uninformed, unfounded, inaccurate opinion, the sports vs. geeks thing is one of the fundamental issues in our popular culture. I might even venture far enough to say that the disdain some sports-loving people have for "geek" things is an extension of anti-intellectualism.
