I also know that in one of the single best Star Wars books I have ever read, The Life and Legend of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke basically finds Ben's memoirs and his accounts of everything that took place in the prequels, Jedi histories, all that good stuff.
Hmm..I always wanted to read that. Wyndham wrote some pretty good SW material, despite it usually being for kids only. Sadly some of the Scholastic material is usually truer to the source than most of the EU.

George might actually have a good time without the stress of directing, and worrying about the money side of things.
He might even make that art film! ;)

Lucas could certainly afford a high end HD camcorder, and go make those movies now. ;)
Where were you in '77?
I don't think it's weird for Ewan to have shown such interest at all (is that Malcolm McDowell as Luke Skywalker in that picture by the way?). Ford, Hammill and Daniels have made less-than respectiful remarks about the films in the past, doesn't mean they hate the movies or Lucas. Good lord, people read such a lot into so little, just to support their existing negative outlook.
A Clockwork Jedi? ;)
Actually, it would be cool to have Malcolm play a new character and act opposite Mark again.

I agree, but sometimes they do this not to support a purported negative outlook, rather they take offense to things never said and get angry because they don't like people expressing opinions different than theirs.

Speaking of Malcolm McDowell, another classic British actor has shown interest in the new Star Wars films...Sir Derek Jacobi

Pretty sure if I had a cape, I'd never take it off either.
I certainly didn't when I was a little kid with costume capes.

"Lucasfilm has recently come forward and made the announcement that due to our modest budget and the short notice with which we have had to prepare for the next episode in the continuing adventures of the sprawling Star Wars saga, the new sequel trilogy will be in the comedy genre. This represents an exciting new take on the Star Wars saga and a new, fresh direction for the franchise as a whole."

Makes sense, the prequels were comedies... wait, what? They weren't?!?
Speaking of "comedies", is the Detours series dead post Disney deal? Haven't heard anything about it lately.

If they could make Jeff Bridges younger for Tron Legacy, aging Ewan to Alec Guinness' age in Episode IV ought not to be a problem. It might even be possible to resurrect Alec the way Marlon Brando was brought back for Superman Returns.
...
The young Jeff Bridges looked weird in Tron Legacy. Not bad, just not quite right.
However, after watching the work that was done with Chris Evans in Captain America, I think they could make anything work.
