People - just don't buy the DVD. It's as simple as that. We all know the films backwards anyway. It's not like we're going to miss anything. The OT are a great set of movies that hold a dear place in my heart, and to be perfectly honest, I think the youth of today (listen to me, I sound like an old age pensioner, but I'm only 34) is a little spoiled by the all-singing, all-dancing DVD releases. I mean, what made a film your favourite? Now think hard about this. What made you really look forward to watching a movie? Action sequences, explosions, chases, smooching. All o' that stuff. But maybe the most important reason is that you knew that if you missed it at the cinema (or on TV) you wouldn't be able to see it again for maybe a year or two. What I'm trying to say is that too much over exposure can be a bad thing. Does it really matter that the OT isn't available on DVD? Will it really affect your life that much? Hey, I'm a big Star Wars fan too, don't get me wrong, but I haven't seen A New Hope since around the late 90's.
And do you know what? The next time I happen to accidentaly catch it on TV or Sky or whatever, I'll hear the opening chords of the music, and I'll be excited...
I'm sorry, but reading back my post, I seem to have rambled slightly, like an alcoholic Aunt at a wedding. I think my taxi is here....

why not buy the DVD's? have you even seen the changes theyve made... damn, the quality looks awesome!

I like the sticker idea very much. I might just go our and buy a few sheets of avery labels today.

Anyone who thinks a boycott can't work, put your money where your mouth is and boycott. Just to prove me wrong.

i am... lol

actually im still thinking of dropping a cloth from the local Future Shop roof saying the "Star Wars DVDs are not the originals"
just gotta check out if there is anything illegal about that....
if not then i've gotta get to work...
and dont worry... ill be sure to get pictures..

How about a lable that says if you buy these DVDs I will fuck your mother. But seriously its all useless. I actually will do the same. I will say remember these are the Special Editions to people but also explain the pros and cons. I think most will agree that the pros far far outweigh the cons.

I really hope that that pic is fake, because if it isn't, then that means they didn't shoot Hayden's full body. They just cut and pasted his head!

Unfortunitly dude that pic is definutly real. You can see it in the Return of the Jedi rip. According to Lucas his modivation for this change because Anakin Skywalker died when he turned into Darth Vader.

Not that Lucas cares a thing about EU or even OT continuity. I wouldn't be surprised if in ESB he changed Kenobi's "...Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me" to "...A Jedi master who instructed me.."

I know that the change is real, Jimbo, I am just hoping that that specific pic is not. It would be really really really shoddy to just reshoot the head and attatch it to Shaw's body. ILM is better than that.

Well, at least skill wise. Ethics, I couldn't tell you.

this is the line i was thinking along, an intensive sticker campain in an attempt to dent sales a tiny bit, it would only have to be a bit, coupled with a massive boycott to get noticed. the txt could be worked out here so they all read the same, then we hit our home town stores starwars displays. they could say somthing like: George lucas changed these on glue. or WARNING contains scenes of extream modification, and list the problems in tiny print. then stick them on the shops display cutouts they always have. ie in the middle of Darth vaders face.

This DVD set is being miss-represented. It is NOT the original trilogy version. It is not even the 1997 special editions. It is a new ALTERED version.
