Yeah, we have no confirmation, but with that exact name on a Star Wars restoration site, the odds seem good. Let's hope it is him. :)

As the Legacy forum has a PM function, why not contact this mythical person if you're really interested in how he is doing.

If he wanted to share information about his health, I imagine he would have come here and done it already. So I respect his privacy. If he wants to say how he's doing, he knows where this site and thread is. I just hope all is well. =)

I'm fairly certain that I now know the identity of Laserman. I haven't yet determined if he's still alive.

I don't wish to invade anyone's privacy, so I won't post it here. PM me if you're interested.

Edit: I can tell you that he did work on Babe: Pig in the City as a digital effects artist. Furthermore, a domain registered in his name (not x0project.com) has an X0-specific page that's still available on archive.org.

I can confirm that he told us he did work on that film, among other things previously. The Black Magic system was something he was able to borrow from work for a time.

OK, Zion has verified that it's him.

I'm still trying to figure out if he's still alive.

Update: There is now strong evidence to suggest that Laserman is alive and well as of, at least, 25 March 29 October 21 November of this year. He's active on several different WWW forums.

This is good news, if for no other reason than to know that he is alive and well. While I doubt he's still interested in working on the X0 Project, I will attempt to contact him.

Wait, I'm having deja vu. Wasn't this Babe point brought up recently? Wasn't there some article of some sort he was featured in? Anyway this seems like beating a dead horse to me. He left, and I can only assume with good reasons.

I don't know much about this project but I've always been curious- would an LD captured on the X0 come close at all to matching the quality of the GOUT?

Take a gander at the last few pages of this thread. The short answer is that the consensus is yes, but the GOUT still wins vs. a single raw capture.

I wonder if Laserman ever found that last hard drive with the remaining ROTJ files.  ;)

Zion, I found into my laserdisc folder an offline copy of the www.x0project.com website, complete with images and videos!

I ask here your permission to let it publicy available, as there are interesting facts there that many would be happy to know.
