How to use the Internet

Double click on your favorite Internet browser (Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera).

WARNING: You must have an active Internet connection for this to work!

To no one in particular (wink wink), if you feel you may have spelling issues, may I recommend Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome (I prefer the latter)?  They automatically notify you if you are spelling something funny with the same squiggly lines under it that you'd see using Word.  It can be very handy ;)

you have to be careful with the Firefox spell check, it has been my experience that there are lots of words it doesn't know.

This is all well and good, but the Internet is too expensive for me to buy right now. Do you know where can I download it for free?

There's a freeware version over at JoeLieberman.net.  The inventor and his partner parted ways and took their respective versions.  Lieberman's version didn't quite catch on as well, but he continues to develop it and provide support.  I think he refers to it as the GlobalLattice...not quite as catchy, I admit.

So yes, this is what Al Gore invented, Davnes007, though his motives were rather obscure.  In theory it was to save the planet, but some think it was actually a means of connecting people into a hive mind and thus conquer the planet.  The plan went awry when the Hale-Bopp aliens interfered in Earth-side affairs and liberated mankind, freeing them from the mind-controlling Internet and giving them a duplicate that actually allowed people to consciously give up their autonomy to sites like Facebook.  But you won't find this version of events in Wikipedia.

Sometimes I fix elderly people's internet for them.

Usually by turning a Chrome icon into an Internet Explorer icon and uninstalling all their toolbars and cursors.

It's also racist.

Actually, I do a single click on Safari.

Which also alerts you of spelling issues.

Just saying.

So does just knowing how to spell things.

What the hell is the "internet"?

Is that the thing that Al Gore invented to help the environment?

Something from that stupid ARPAnet program that will never turn up.

Yes folks, in one foul swoop a spellchecker will defiantly improve your spelling. What have you got to loose? Even though it gets a bad wrap some people still make due with Internet Explorer. I have been waiting with baited breath for a browser with built in spell checking and now its really working!
