Hmm... That doesnt seem to make sense, given that in alien resurrection, which takes place 200 years AFTER Alien 3, they had to clone Ripley 7 times before they even got it right. As for him being a descendant, he looks too much like the character in AVP to be one. All that aside, I think it's fair to say that AVP completely fucked up the continuity of the Alien series.

As for my thoughts on Alien Versus Predator, it is a OK sequel to the Predator films, a horrible prequel to the Alien movies, and as a stand-alone film, it's a stricly passable action flick.
