Sairen aka Forbidden Siren (2006).

One of those rarities, a film based on a computer game that isn't utter bobbins.

Yui Ichickawa looks like a Japanese Noomi Rapace.

It has a nice Wicker Man (original not the beemake) feel to the opening sections.

Sadly the ending is a bit weak and the gimmicks of the game (being able to see through the eyes of others, non-linear story telling etc) weren't carried over to the film so it does play out as a rather mild entry to the Asian horror stable despite it's positive aspects.

3 Centispiders.

Salvage (2009).

I'm lucky to not be a soap fan so the purpose built cul-de-sac requisitioned for this Liverpudlian horror film previously home to Brookside didn't jar for me.

Sadly the film didn't really click for me either.

It's an admirable piece in some ways because it's tightly filmed and edited.

It makes it's micro budget stretch quite a distance too.

It just lacks a real purpose.

It was as if the makers wanted to put a showreel of horror/thriller tropes and just flung a War On Terror/Broken Britain blanket over it.

Considering the location it would have made the ideal WTF soap storyline though.

2 Balls.
