Where were you in '77?
I just realized the Disney acquisition of Star Wars brings things full circle.
“Grow up. These are my Disney's movies, not yours.”
Well if those rights were what was holding up the release of the next damn season, hopefully it finally comes out!
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
The circle is now complete? ;)
I've often wished they had made a Pigs In Space movie.

The little box of Jedi Tray chocolates was a bit obvious though wasn't it?
If anyone is interested, I've been on a couple podcasts to talk about Disney/Star Wars, Episode VII, and the future of fan edits.

But who's there to say no to him this time? Is he not still to be surrounded by yes-men?
Well, what it sounds like is that he sold it outright and therefore shouldn't be involved directly. Now, as for what Lucas put into the contract, none of us know...

That really surprises me actually, given the attention your awesome work has gotten. I would love to hear you on a cast talking about the techniques and decisions you made on your restoration. You can be on ours if you want but it's pretty small time, I'm not sure if anyone listens.

I've been starting to surf the internet regarding on this whole "Fox giving the rights to the 5 sequels to Lucasfilm/Disney in 2020" thing since I been hearing talk about it. I pray it's not true now.
The 6 films belong to Fox and will continue to do so until the end of time (including Red Tails, Willow, and the additional Star Wars media Fox owns). Having to give the 5 sequels away while Fox keeps IV will break my heart into a bunch of little pieces as I want them ALL to stay with Fox.
Sorry to keep ranting but ever since I've heard about the deal, I have been oh so depressed. Am I the only one here who thinks Fox should've gotten this deal? It makes sense when you think about it, right?
Anyway, regarding on Fox losing the rights to the 5 sequels in 2020; real or (terrible) rumour?
Fox released Willow?
Where were you in '77?
Yeah but it is a vector on who can do what with these films.
Like getting an HD home cinema release or showing the OUT in a theatre.
This is still OT.COM.
Just sayin'.
Is there any proof Fox still owned SW and not Lucasfilms?
This guy seems pretty convinced fox sold it to lucas in exchange for the right to distribute the prequel trilogy.

One movie every 2-3 years? Try 2-3 movies produced EVERY YEAR.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
I just saw that... insanity.
From the chat where I saw it:
[18:59] Maybe she misspoke and meant a film every two or three years. =P
[18:59] But I mean... with the money and people Disney can mobilize, they could probably do it.
[19:00] I assume 7, 8, 9 will be part of the "original saga" and if they decide to continue that, I can see a movie every couple years.
[19:00] But at the same time, they have access to the whole galaxy.
[19:01] So they could do movies with totally different characters and unrelated stories about the underworld, or Boba Fett, or clone troopers, or stormtroopers, or pirates, or Jabba, or anything really.
[19:01] And they could do some of them animated in various ways.
[19:02] So they probably could do multiple films a year.
It does, however, make me worry about oversaturation and the quality drop involved with that.
