I don't mind younger characters so long as there's a logical reason for them to be in the plot. Star Trek II brought in Spock's protege and Kirk's son. It sure seemed like they would the "next generation" before anyone saw ST III.

Even if they ignore the EU, it stands to reason Leia and Han would have had some kids after ROTJ. Even Lando might have settled down and raised a family.

If there's still a Rebel alliance, you need some young blood in the ranks. I do hope we see Wedge again. Maybe they'll get Denis Lawson back with the promise of going out in a blaze of glory? ;)
