This is a dark night for America.

I wish that I could just wish my feelings away...but I can't.  Wishful wishing can only lead to wishes wished for in futile wishfulness, which is not what I wish to wish for.

I don't know about America, but Ferris just might.   I don't think anyone here hates him as much as Ferris does.

Hyperbole much?

At least for the second time in her adult lifetime, Michelle will be really proud of her country.

I found Warbler's comment re: ferris more troubling.

The blue elephant in the room.

I didn't mean he'd really do it, its just I know he can't stand Obama.

Hyperbole?  Perhaps.  But I really am concerned that Obama will drastically alter the nature of our government to the best of his ability, and in a way that I do not think would be to our benefit.  He is right in that he has more latitude now in his second term.  And the long-term effects of his work on our economy are frightening...and just thinking that our country chose to put him back...seems suicidal!  Thankfully the Republicans still control the House, so he can't do everything he wants.  But then, neither can the Republicans.

UNITED States my ass!!!

I wish we could divide the country in two, a red and blue side... Everyone get to your side and see who survives.  Who is going to pay for the handouts when the ones who work for a living are not there to take care of them?  Let the blue side waste their money on bankrupted new energy sources when we still rely on foreign oil. Who is going to have the kick ass military with people who support them.

Blue would come crying to red.  I guarantee it!

Galatians 2: 20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

The amount of butthurt in this thread is astounding.

Do you not think it would have been otherwise had Romney won?  Seriously, someone is always butthurt following an election.  What did you expect?  In fact, while I'm surprised by the conservative representation at this site, you can bet they'd be saying far worse things elsewhere on the net.  Huffington Post stories and the comments below them would be saying some of the most awful things (something I'm sure they're doing already in the midst of their gloating).  Politics is ugly business, and there's never a shortage of people on the Net willing to make it uglier.

I found this article valuable and true: the media bias is astounding and unashamed.  I always believed the mainstream media was biased, but until Benghazi, I never realized just how extensively.

Between the ages of nine and twenty-seven I was waiting the death of the oppressive Thatcher spawned government and when Blair got in it was like the end of ROTJ (all fireworks and teddy bears).

Then came eleven years of illegal wars and the sort of corruption we used to take the mick out of the Italians for.

Now we have an hilariously awful Government so screwed up that satirists are having a hard time topping the tawdry reality of it all.

I can't imagine it being much different elsewhere.

Honestly don't waste time picking sides or encouraging them to waste money campaigning.

Vote for the official looney not the one pretending to be serious.

There should a mechanism for quantifying the acceptable minimum standards for living in a nation and if anyone falls below that mark under their watch the elected leader could be executed on live television and plowed into the soil.

That would keep them on their toes.

Handouts for whom? Are you referring to state-provided assistance for the elderly and disabled?

You need to be more specific.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!
