DVD Burning Software

Apologies if this belongs in another thread, but....
What software does everyone use for burning DVDs? Specifically, I have downloaded the OT Anamorphic DVDr version from Bittorrent, so I would like a program that you can just select the VIDEO_TS.ifo file and burn the DVD. I was using the trial version of a program called Copy2DVD that worked exactly like that, super-easy, but my trial time has expired, and I don't really want to pony up $40 for a program I might not use again (all I have left to burn is the Supplemental disk). I have Easy CD/DVD creator, but couldn't find a way to burn a video DVD from a .ifo file. Any suggestions?

I use CloneDVD or DVD Decrypter both will burn from IFO

Use Nero from nero.com

or you could get into the code for Copy2DVD and crack it yourself so it's free forever.

But that could put you in jail......

I use DVD Decrypter, it's free. You could also use DVD Shrink, also free, to create iso files from existing files on your computer (DVD Decrypter will create iso files from the discs).

I think he wanted software for burning discs, not transcoding or reencoding them. Shrink and decrypter don't do that...

Shrink can make the ISO files from a VIDEO_TS folder. Decrypter can burn it.

Here's what I did:

Just to make sure it would work on all players, I put in an AUDIO_TS folder (EMPTY) in front of the VIDEO_TS folder (not inside it), then used ImgTool (free) to make an .iso of the two folders, then DVDDecrypter (also free) to burn it to a DVD+R.

Though everyong else knows you should be using DVD-R

What's the difference, really? I got the PC for Xmas last year and it came with a +R burner, so I use +R. What's wrong with it, though? Isn't it the same as -R?

Here's the differences in DVD-R and DVD+R

DVD+RW is better to use then DVD-RW, however when it comes to write-once media DVD-R is more compatible then DVD+R.

This is so frustrating, I have two new coasters, damn. I received my Pioneer dvr-108 yesterday and installed it and everything, the firmware was 1.04 and I bought a 5pk of Verbatim DVD+R, so i was ready to burn the ESB anamorphic version. I used Nero 6.0.0.0 and chosed DVD-Movie, i selected all the files and I was ready to burn it, when the process was at 100% I received an error, something like "Unable to perform end of disc at one" and voila new coaster, frustrated I tried it again, this time i made an .iso image of all the ESB files and tried to burn the image using nero, but i had the exact same results. I'm getting Easy Media Creator 7 and I'll give that a try, today I updated the DVDR firmware to 1.10, and I'll try it when I get home. If anyone is familiar with this error and can provide some help, I would really appreciate it.
I wish I had a Kryptonite cross, because then you could keep both Dracula AND Superman away.

Update to the current version of Nero. Version 6.0.0.0 (your version) had lots of bugs, as it was the first release of version 6. The latest release is version 6.3.1.20.

TR47, i used nero last night to copy your ESB disc for a friend, and it wouldn't copy the video w/o compressing it to 99.7%. it looks okay, but i'd prefer to copy sans any compression whatever. how do you configure nero recode to do that?

huzzah for archival THEATRICAL OT!!!
it is our duty to preserve star wars history...

This is the reason you use DVD Decrypter.

Seriously, folks -- DVD Decrypter is FREE!!!! Go here, and ignore the Nero part (it has ImgTool and DVD Decrypter downloads); it's a guide on how to make a DVD from AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS (and i STRONGLY reccomend adding an EMPTY AUDIO_TS folder next to the VIDEO_TS folder if there isn't one BEFORE you make the ISO, for better compatibility with older players, and just to be safe put it in front of the VIDEO_TS because I really don't know if that makes a difference but I've always seen the EMPTY audio folder come before the video folder). That's the same way I did it and all three anamorphic discs work flawlessly.

--EDIT--

Actually reading the tutorial it seems the AUDIO_TS folder is created for you, so ignore that part.

Well I figured it out, I deleted all the Nero registry keys and that solved the "??? menu" problem, then I installed the updated Nero and burned the image with no problem. I just regret not doing this before, because I wouldn't have wasted 2 discs.
