I'm sorry, it's not my blog or from anyone that I know.
My comment wasn't aimed at you. It was just a reminder to not to believe everything that's written on the Internet, because anyone can write on the Internet, and the subject is very hot at the moment. I too can create a blog and write "a source close to Lucas, yet asking to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, reports that RRS-1980 was contacted regarding planned yet-unnamed LucasArts space combat sim", and because last few words are a genuine rumor, it suddenly looks believable, yay!
Today's CGI can look fairly well (I'm not talking explosions, where I'd still use models) - it is the fault of poor art directing. Modern CGI can successfully fake CRT scanlines and analog computer displays of 1980s. It just takes knowledge, skill and dedication.
