I want someone that good to write the new movies. I want someone as good as Spielberg was on Raiders, Lucas on Star Wars 1977, or Kershner on Empire to direct it.

Also why settle for matching the oot for greatness when you could top it, the prequels made us lower our expectations to the point where a Sub Return of the Jedi effort would be acceptable.

The Kind of money they have and the technologies that now exist should mean they could make the best star wars movies ever possible.

But probably won't happen.

Even if the new movies are objectively better than the OT, they will still lack that late 70s/early 80s aesthetic that so many of us love. :-(
