1. What would be great would be a commitment from a pro ADR guy to do lines for both Ep. II and Ep. III at the same time (and maybe pickups for Ep. III if needed).

2. That, and an ADR guy who could do a good Jar-Jar and get a commitment for both Ep. I and II all at once.

Other stuff:

Then we have 2 lines from the blue-horned guy that could stand to be redone (recording quality).

Also, it may be worth addressing the Nemodians now, too.  I got some GREAT foreign voice work for SOTDS (I think they were friends of user Sluggo).  Would be great if I could get recordings for a possible Episode III and I.

Those could free me up to finish not only SOTDS, but a possible complete PT.

But Anakin is really the major issue.  Even though I'm probably a better and more honest actor than I was when I did the rough cut, my voice doesn't always mesh with the thin and tall Hayden Christensen.  Something closer to his sound, but a little deeper (remember he is Darth Vader) and not so wimpy and whiny would be perfect.

This may sound crazy, but with your own voice work for anakin... Have you tried changing the pitch in post?

I distinctly remember trying it, but it didn't sound convincing enough with my voice.

I have at least one volunteer for a new ADR track for Anakin Skywalker.  His test recordings (and my actor for Jar-Jar) should be in by the end of the month.

If these dubs seem like they will actually work, work on the final cut trooperman trilogy will begin in earnest...

How does the ADR go?

The goal is to dub the movies as-is first, and put out the alternate audio tracks first as a proof of concept.  Then we will do the dubs for my edit.  I'm very excited about the voice- it fits the on-screen image much better than mine.

Yeah, I liked this guys take a lot more.

One of the things that sold me right off the bat was his choice of scenes.  In his original demo, he did the infamous fireplace scene.  If he can take dialogue that bad and make it sound that convincing, you know the guy is good and that the other scenes will be even easier for him.

He actually chose two of my most hated moments in those movies... HATE the fireplace scene, but Hayden's line delivery right before the final duel was equally as horrible.

I agree.

He is starting on the original cuts of Episode 2 and 3 soon, so I am looking forward to hearing how he handles everything else...

This is one thing that always looked fake to me. I don't know if anybody has done this yet, but has anyone considered changing Padme's blaster during the arena battle into something that would look like something she could hold with one hand? Everybody else, in all the movies, had to hold that thing with two hands, but she managed to do it with one. I can't believe Lucas never bothered to correct her on holding and firing a gun prop so it looks real. Sigh.

I must not have got the memo. Where can I hear/watch this?!

I'm still waiting for a reply to my above question.

*goes back to sleep* :-p

To clairify, I think I was taking about the new ADR'd voice.

I personally didn't respond because I didn't know the answer. Hopefully T-man has those in possession. Trooperman, you alive?

This looks cool.

I wish that I could just wish my feelings away...but I can't.  Wishful wishing can only lead to wishes wished for in futile wishfulness, which is not what I wish to wish for.

Hey, this is a nice surprise!

Your story about showing your edit to a casual Star Wars fan really got me. I think that kind of fun is why these edits get made. I'm glad that happened! I haven't shown anyone this cut since it's still rough, but I have been tempted. There are lots of friends of mine who utterly hate the Prequels and have never given a fan edit a try. I look forward to blowing some folks away with this one.

I hope everything is going well in the Trooperman household! Glad you're back at it.

Do you know something we don't know? Is t-man back at it? He's been MIA for a good long while. =/

Hi everyone; my name's Henry and I'm actually the voice actor Trooperman recruited to re-dub the voice of Anakin Skywalker for Episodes II & III as well as planning to record for his new edits. I emailed Trooperman about a month ago for an update, but he never responded to me, so  I'm a bit worried that this project isn't making any progress. I've recorded every single line of Anakin's from both films (it took about an entire straight week of work) and if Trooperman is no longer going to use them, I want to make them available for others, as  well as use them in my own projects.  I was really hoping this project would be successful, but it may have been too ambitious. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should proceed? Also, if anyone wishes to hear some samples of my voice as Anakin Skywalker, let me know!

The main thing halting my own edit has been the limited non-whiny & non-asshole dialogue for Anakin so I would absolutely LOVE to take a peek at what you've recorded. My edit is fairly ambitious too. Unfortunately I don't think there are any examples of it remaining on youtube for you to see though now that they've gone so overzealous with the coyright stuff. My clips seemed to be met with a lot of good feedback though.

Let me know if you'd consider allowing me to use your recordings. :-)

Yes! At the very least, please share some additional samples! TMan had posted a few, but in this case less is never more.

It says he was online on Nov. 1, so I don't think he's completely disappeared...just not pressing forward too actively.  You may have woken him up a bit.  I personally do not feel a whole lot in the editing community should be hoarded unless it's a critical surprise regarding one's own edit...otherwise I feel it's best to allow everyone access to it.  But that's just my take, and I can't really call myself a fan editor.

Theres no contract lol so as long as I'm credited and kept updated with the projects my voice work is used in, I think it's fair to share. I'll be uploading samples in a few hours; would anyone like me to upload samples from certain scenes specifically? These can be either from Attack of the Clones or Revenge of the Sith.

Cool, that you can upload clips.  I was planning to use these dubs in my edits.  It would be cool to hear stuff from the worst scenes from the films, like the fireplace scene or the packing scene.

Plus, did you and trooperman plan to dub all the usable deleted scenes (DVD and Bluray) too?  I know those scenes mean a lot to editors here, and are quite often equal quality to those in the films.
