It's understandable.

Over here my generation spent most of their lives thinking Sir Jimmy Saville (knighted by the Queen and Pope) was a lovable oddball eccentric and tireless philanthropist.

Now we know him to be a predatory kiddie fiddler.

Setting up people for sainthood can lead to one hell of a come down.

But personally I can't live suspecting the worst in people, it's not healthy.

In the round I'm happy he is giving it to causes he cares about but I balance that in my mind with his ability to give that much.

David Prowse gives less but he has less to give.

It's a good thing for George to do but it doesn't give him a halo.

I do hope he is okay, giving stuff away is often a sign of bad news.
