I watched the whole original series of The Twilight Zone fairly recently and really enjoyed it. Then I tried The Outer Limits and didn't make it through the first season. I might give it another try or I might just skip ahead to Night Gallery.

Can anyone recommend or comment on these 80s anthologies?

Tales from the Darkside
Twilight Zone
Amazing Stories

Well I haven't watched too much of the 60's Outer Limits episodes. I'm mostly going in random in the 90's series. Though there are a few episodes that are sequels to previous episodes in the 90's series. So it kind of pays to go in order unlike what I'm doing... So I don't know. Maybe I'll list some good completely standalone episodes for you to check out. Later on though got some other stuff I want to watch soon.

As for the 80's Twilight Zone I've seen a couple of episodes where they basically took the script from an original Twilight Zone episode and just shot it in color with worse acting. Either that or they changed the ending that changed the whole idea of the episode itself. For the most part I'd suggest making sure the episode you're going to watch wasn't already done in the first Twilight Zone. Granted though I haven't seen much of the 80's Twilight Zone. I've been mostly watching the original.
