Fox is retaining the rights to the earlier films, so nothing new except new stuff not to buy. Unless this'll get the OOT out, which it won't, let's move along. Basically it means we'll be seeing more SW stuff than ever, but who cares? The OOT is still doomed.

I don't see at all how this is doomed. Perhaps Disney owns the future, but Fox must know that they control what people have been craving... The original trilogy. That is a gold mine. Now that George is pretty much out of the picture, I can't see why Fox wouldn't want to jump in and cash in on this valuable asset.

The only chance we had was that maybe the cash flow from stuff like RED TAILS would dry up, now they have an unlimited revenue source and no reason to release the OOT ever again. If Lucas contractually obligated them to make sure it never comes out again, I'd hardly be surprised. The BR sales are the final nail in the coffin, no one cares about the OOT except a passionate minority. With all of the new revenue, why on earth would the OOT be a valuable asset?
