I think this could be a good thing if done well. But in my opinon disney is going about this in the wrong way. They should forget the 6 movies and just make movies set in the same universe but with diffrent charachters and ditch the episode numbering, For example , I think the old republic storylines would make a great film trilogy by itself, There is so much they could do, The whole mandalorian war the fight with the sith would make a great film. Fans would be happy with it also because it wont affect any of the 6 main movies. If they were doing a sequel to return of the jedi then they would have to most likely recast actors which a lot of people will probably hate because its wont fit in with the way the series is made

So disney could do this in a great way if they branch off of the 6 main movies and adapt other adventures instead of showing us what happens afterwards
