Lucas not only wrote an "extensive and detailed" treatment, but now he is in the writer's room as well. And he will be creative consultant through the entire process.

Look at it optimistically- this looks exactly like the makings of another "Empire". Lucas is involved, but not in total control. He could redeem himself yet!
